Kamil Jalilov (Azerbaijani: Kamil Cəlilov) (born in 1938 in Buzovna, Baku) is a musician known for his master expertise playing wind instruments and Azerbaijani folk instruments.[1][2][3]

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest folk musicians of all time as he is the master player of wind instruments such as balaban, clarinet, duduk, zurna, oboe and Azerbaijani regional folk instruments.[4][5]

Biography

In 1953, he started to perform in the age of 15 after being inspired by the local man.[2] After finishing local school number 176, he joined the Asaf Zeynalli School of Music and then graduated from Azerbaijan State Conservatory.[6]

During 1970 to 1988, as a musician he toured with concert performances in several countries of the world, including Egypt, Italy, Poland, India, Lebanon, Syria, and many other countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.[2]
